ROLE OVERVIEW

The Data Scientist is responsible for the implementation of data analytics projects for various customer portfolios, in close collaboration with the other members of the Business Analytics & Insights unit and under the supervision of the head of the unit. You will be working closely with the rest of the team to maintain data marts to serve the needs of existing projects and create new ones, implement advanced predictive and optimization analytics with the use of proper Machine Learning algorithms, and work together with the clients to understand customer behavior and portfolio trends and discover business insights.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collect, integrate and manage data from various data sources and maintain ETL processes on different warehouse structures, with proper supervision
  • Handle data quality, cleansing, customer deduplication and feature selection tasks
  • Create and maintain data marts and use data mining and visualization reporting techniques to interpret information and discover trends for business purposes
  • Generate necessary program codes in a structured and methodical manner, giving emphasis to proper supervision, error-handling mindset and  documentation
  • Understand business challenges and relate them with specific analytics activities
  • Actively participate in the creation of customer segmentations by applying RFM, clustering and classification techniques
  • Design, implement, and automate predictive models based on machine learning algorithms, with proper monitoring and documentation, with the goal to assist businesses identify churn, x-sell and upsell opportunities, and optimize campaign targeting
  • Work on basket analysis projects identify product associations and point out recommendations
  • Perform campaign management including designing, executing and evaluating communication activities, with proper guidance from senior data analysts

  • SKILLS AND  ATTRIBUTES TO SUCCEED

  • BS or MS in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Computer Science or Engineering
  • 2 years’ proven working experience in data mining & data preparation, predictive analytics and applied statistics
  • Proven programming skills in Python, SQL or base SAS
  • Advanced use of Excel and/or MS Access
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Quick learner to adopt new technologies and methodologies
  • Ability to develop, maintain and troubleshoot mid-level projects
  • Serious long-term aspiration to work as a programmer
  • Ability to work well with minimum supervision, under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to express ideas verbally and in writing, both in Greek and in English

  • ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED INCLUDE

  • Experience in database systems (SQL, MySQL, Business Objects, Mongo Db, Cosmos Db etc.)
  •  Experience working with Azure ecosystem or Azure certifications
  • Knowledge of big data platforms (Hadoop, Apache Spark etc.)
  • Knowledge of Visual analytics (PowerBI, Tableau, ClickView etc.) or text analytics
  • Experience in Google analytics and other web analytics tools
